UNE's expansive, holistic vision of a healthier world goes beyond physical well-being. It encompasses emotional and intellectual fulfillment — as well as economic opportunity — for individuals, prosperous and supportive communities, and cooperative environmental stewardship across the globe.
Bringing that vision to life requires the deep involvement of all of our programs, often working in cross-disciplinary combinations. UNE offers more than 40 bachelor’s degrees and 30-plus graduate, professional, and doctoral degrees in needed fields, including the natural and social sciences, the humanities and the arts, business, and health.

Oral Health Center Care
Start mastering the critical skills needed for advanced dental practice. In your first weeks, you’ll begin working in our simulation center to refine your hand skills with your own set of instruments.
Refine Your Hand Skills Early
Begin working with patients in our Oral Health Center early in your training, gaining invaluable experience while serving a diverse community of more than 17,000 patients annually.
Starting in the first semester of your second year, you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience working alongside fellow “dental associates” in UNE’s Oral Health Center. Under the guidance of experienced faculty mentors, you’ll refine your skills while managing patient cases and providing high-quality oral health care to Maine communities. With no fellows or residents, you’ll take on full responsibility for patient care, handling a wide variety of cases, from routine check-ups to more complex treatments. This model ensures you develop the confidence and clinical skills needed to succeed in your dental career.
